How It Works

This innovative treatment uses stem cells to heal injured or degenerated tissue. Amniotic Allograft vs. Other Stem Cell Therapies

(Adipose) Fat derived Stem Cells

  • Fat derived stem cells are drawn from adipose tissue (fat) via liposuction which is an invasive procedure
  • Donor sites for this procedure are frequently the abdominal wall, the buttock, and the love handles – a local anesthetic is required for this procedure
  • Multiple platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are needed

Bone Marrow-Derived Stem Cells

  • Bone Marrow-derived Stem Cells require the donor site to usually be from the pelvis, performed with a specialized type of needle, with an approach from either front or back and a local anesthetic is used
  • The procedure (numbing, tracing, and the extraction) takes several hours
  • Multiple Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are needed.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) requires blood to be first drawn from a patient. The platelets are separated from other blood cells, and their concentration is increased. Then the increased concentration of platelets is combined with the remaining blood
  • A mixture of PRP and a local anesthetic is then injected directly into the inflamed tissue. Afterward, the pain at the area of injection may increase for the first week or two, and it may be several weeks before the patient feels a beneficial effect
  • Underlying stem cells are the age of the host vs. amniotic stem cells which are just one day old and are more efficient at the healing process

Where do our Amniotic Allografts Come From?

Donors are healthy women between the ages of 18-45 years. A careful medical and social history are collected in advance to ensure mothers meet all requirements, and placental tissues are collected at several facilities around the country. At the time of Cesarean delivery, the baby is delivered and the placenta and fluid, which are typically discarded, are saved.

All tissues are tested to ensure viability and safety, and this process follows strict guidelines and is consistent with industry best practices. Tissues are processed to the highest standards in a state-of-the-art American Association of Tissue Banks accredited facility and allografts are subjected to stringent USP testing before release.

Steroids are widely used to provide temporary relief from pain and inflammation. Steroids, however, have the following effects on your body:
